Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the signing of the original GI Bill

June 20th, 2014

The 70th Anniversary of the signing of the original GI Bill-“The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act” is this month, June 22, 2014. The original GI Bill was signed June 22, 1944 and created a wide range of benefits for Veterans returning from World War II. These benefits, commonly known as the “GI Bill”, included low-cost home loans, educational and vocational training. Our focus would be on the educational benefits. Please join us on Friday, June 20th between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the Tri-County Technical College, Pendleton Campus, cafeteria, for a small celebration to remember this event. Recruiters have been invited to share their expertise and will be available for any questions regarding the educational benefits of the GI Bill. There will be light refreshments served. You may contact Wanda Pickens, Veterans Coordinator at 864-646-2026 for any questions. Thank you.
